The Marquette Defenders basketball team scored 68 points and limited the host Alburnett Pirates to 55 in the Defenders non-league triumph on Friday.

The Defenders now possess a 20-0 record. They play next when they travel to Dubuque Senior for a non-league game on Monday, February 10. Marquette will play a Rams team coming off a 84-33 league win over Hempstead (Dubuque, IA). The Rams record now stands at 15-2.

With the loss, Alburnett falls to 16-4 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Wilton (Wilton, IA) to play the Beavers in a non-league game on Monday, February 10. The Beavers go into the game with a record of 4-15. Wilton lost 67-64 in their recent league game against West Branch (West Branch, IA)
