The Merryville Panthers basketball squad scored 66 points and held the visiting Basile Bearcats to 51 in the Panthers league victory on Friday.

With the victory, Merryville advances its record to 6-20 on the year. The Panthers travel to Hamilton Christian (Lake Charles, LA) to face the Warriors in a 1A District 4 match on Tuesday, February 11. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 15-7. Hamilton Christian won 68-37 in their recent league match against Elton (Elton, LA)

The Bearcats now own a 8-26 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Georgetown for a non-league match on Monday, February 10. Basile will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 69-44 league win over Calvin (Calvin, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 25-9.
