The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL) and the visiting Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), observed Lanphier's basketball team overwhelm Normal University by a score of 59-21.

The Lions (19-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Lincoln (Lincoln, IL). The Railsplitters come into the non-league challenge with a 16-8 record. In their last challenge, Lincoln trounced Glenwood (Chatham, IL), 36-29, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Pioneers encounter the Fieldcrest Knights (Minonk, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 8. Normal University will attempt to improve on its 13-13 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 18-6 record after their 52-46 league win over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL).
