The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Malden Green Wave (Malden, MO) and the visiting Southland Rebels (Cardwell, MO), observed Malden's basketball team knock off Southland by a score of 74-55.

The Green Wave (1-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Scott City (Scott City, MO). The Rams come into the non-league challenge with a 18-3 record. In their last challenge, Scott City prevailed over East Prairie (East Prairie, MO), 65-53, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Rebels encounter the Cooter Wildcats (Cooter, MO) in a Tri-County - Southeast challenge, on Monday, February 10. Southland will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record.
