In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Powell County Pirates basketball team scored a close 72-68 win over the Wolfe County Wolves.
The Pirates (14-7) will now prepare for their contest against Model (Richmond, KY). The Patriots come into the non-league contest with a 11-12 record. In their last contest, Model edged Robertson County (Mt. Olivet, KY), 98-29, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Wolves battle the Knott County Central Patriots (Hindman, KY) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Wolfe County will attempt to better on its 9-15 season record. The Patriots come into the contest with a 18-11 record after their 57-38 non-league loss to Bell County (Pineville, KY).
