The Nelson Island Islanders (Toksook Bay, AK) basketball edged the host Aniak Halfbreeds (Aniak, AK), 52-49 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Islanders now possess a 5-6 record. They play next when they travel to Chief Ivan Blunka for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 8. Nelson Island will play a Eagles team coming off a 66-47 non-league loss to Z John Williams (Napaskiak, AK). The Eagles record now stands at 0-6.
