The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL) and the visiting Havana Ducks (Havana, IL), observed Deer Creek-Mackinaw's basketball team overcome Havana by a margin of 60-44.

The Chiefs (25-3) will now prepare for their bout against Ridgeview (Colfax, IL). The Mustangs go into the Heart Of Illinois bout with a 6-21 record. In their last bout, Ridgeview fell by Fisher (Fisher, IL), 44-39, in a league bout.

With the loss, Havana falls to 19-10 on the campaign. The Ducks host Cuba/Spoon River Valley (Cuba, IL) to play the Wildcats in a Prairieland bout on Thursday, February 13. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 10-11.
