In Friday's league contest, the host Hudson Pirates basketball team scored a good 61-50 win over the Wapsie Valley Warriors.

The Pirates (15-6) will now prepare for their contest against New Hampton (New Hampton, IA). The Chickasaws come into the non-league contest with a 5-15 record. In their last contest, New Hampton dropped by Crestwood (Cresco, IA), 75-67, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Warriors battle the Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, February 10. Wapsie Valley will attempt to better on its 9-11 season record. The Spartans come into the contest with a 13-7 record after their 36-35 non-league win over Dike-New Hartford (Dike, IA).
