The Union Grove Lions (Gladewater, TX) basketball were winner over the host Hughes Springs Mustangs (Hughes Springs, TX), 44-24 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Lions now possess a 21-11 record. They play next when they travel to Cushing for a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 11. Union Grove will play a Bearkats team coming off a 71-38 league loss to Douglass (Douglass, TX). The Bearkats record now stands at 16-13.

With the loss, Hughes Springs falls to 15-19 on the campaign.
