Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Iroquois West Raiders (Gilman, IL), 35-30 in a league match.

With the victory, Oakwood advances its record to 1-0 on the year.

The Raiders now own a 5-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Milford for a match on Tuesday, February 11. Iroquois West will meet a Bearcats squad coming off a 45-27 non-league loss to Clifton Central (Clifton, IL). The Bearcats record now stands at 0-1.
