In Thursday's non-league match, the host Mercer Mustangs basketball team scored a tight 68-65 triumph over the Clarion-Limestone Lions.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the West Middlesex Big Reds (West Middlesex, PA) in a District 10 Region 2 match, on Tuesday, February 13. Mercer will attempt to move on its 17-3 season record. The Big Reds enter the match with a 4-16 record after their 47-39 league loss to Sharpsville (Sharpsville, PA).

With the defeat, Clarion-Limestone moves to 12-8 on the year. The Lions host East Forest/West Forest (Tionesta, PA) to face the Fires in a match on Friday, February 9.
