Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Mahtomedi Zephyrs (Mahtomedi, MN) and the host Columbia Heights Hylanders (Columbia Heights, MN), saw Mahtomedi's basketball squad hold off Columbia Heights by a count of 72-71.

With the victory, Mahtomedi upgrades its record to 10-11 on the campaign. The Zephyrs travel to St. Thomas Academy (Mendota Heights, MN) to play the Cadets in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, February 14. The Cadets come into the challenge with a record of 12-8. St. Thomas Academy won 72-61 in their recent non-league challenge against Tartan (Oakdale, MN)

Next up, the Hylanders play the Brooklyn Center Centaurs (Brooklyn Center, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 9. Columbia Heights will attempt to upgrade on its 15-4 season record. The Centaurs come into the challenge with a 2-17 record after their 100-50 non-league loss to Breck (Minneapolis, MN).
