The Copan Hornets tipped the visiting Welch Wildcats basketball team by a final score of 40-33 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Hornets face the Shidler Tigers (Shidler, OK) in a Northern Oklahoma game, on Saturday, February 10. Copan will attempt to move on its 7-16 season record. The Tigers enter the game with a 17-9 record after their 57-20 non-league win over Wesleyan Christian (Bartlesville, OK).

With the defeat, Welch moves to 8-14 on the year.
