The Spearfish Spartans (Spearfish, SD) basketball knocked off the host Custer Wildcats (Custer, SD), 58-39 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Spartans (11-5) will now prepare for their test against Rapid City Christian (Rapid City, SD). The Comets go into the non-league test with a 11-7 record. In their last test, Rapid City Christian notched a victory over Lead-Deadwood (Lead, SD), 71-13, in a league test.
The Wildcats now own a 7-11 record. They play next when they travel to Hill City for a A Region 8 test on Tuesday, February 13. Custer will encounter a Rangers squad coming off a 48-23 non-league win over Douglas (Box Elder, SD). The Rangers record now stands at 15-3.
