Virginia High School Basketball - Middlesex can't hold off Essex

The Essex Trojans basketball team scored 23 points and held the host Middlesex Chargers to 20 in the Trojans non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Trojans now sport a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Westmoreland for a non-league contest on Friday, February 9. Essex will battle a Eagles team coming off a 51-41 non-league loss to Rappahannock (Warsaw, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-3.

The Chargers (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Nandua (Onley, VA). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Nandua nudged Arcadia (Oak Hall, VA), 65-52, in a non-league contest.
