The Ankeny Hawks basketball team scored 79 points and limited the visiting Iowa City Little Hawks to 48 in the Hawks non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Hawks now have a 11-10 record. They play next when they travel to Liberty for a non-league game on Saturday, February 8. Ankeny will confront a Lightning team coming off a 80-56 league loss to Dubuque Senior (Dubuque, IA). The Lightning record now stands at 2-14.

With the loss, Iowa City falls to 6-23 on the campaign. The Little hawks host Jefferson (Cedar Rapids, IA) to confront the Hawks in a Mississippi Valley game on Tuesday, February 11. The Hawks go into the game with a record of 5-15. Jefferson lost 68-51 in their recent non-league game against Xavier (Cedar Rapids, IA)
