The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Eastern Mennonite Flames (Harrisonburg, VA) and the visiting Carlisle Chiefs (Axton, VA), observed Eastern Mennonite's basketball team edge Carlisle by a score of 64-62.

The Flames (4-14) will now prepare for their challenge against The Covenant (Charlottesville, VA). The Eagles come into the Virginia Independent challenge with a 7-10 record.

In their next game, the Chiefs encounter the New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) in a Virginia Independent challenge, on Monday, February 10. Carlisle will attempt to improve on its 2-16 season record. The Gryphons come into the challenge with a 15-8 record after their 64-59 league loss to The Covenant (Charlottesville, VA).
