The Cumberland Dukes basketball team scored 69 points and limited the visiting Essex Trojans to 49 in the Dukes non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Dukes now have a 13-6 record. They play next when they travel to Prince Edward County for a James River game on Monday, February 10. Cumberland will confront a Eagles team coming off a 71-57 league loss to Buckingham (Buckingham, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 9-9.

With the loss, Essex falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Westmoreland (Montross, VA) to confront the Eagles in a Northern Neck game on Monday, February 10. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 11-8. Westmoreland won 42-40 in their recent non-league game against Sussex Central (Sussex, VA)
