Illinois High School Basketball - Plainfield East sneaks past Downers Grove South

The Plainfield East Bengals (Plainfield, IL) basketball edged the visiting Downers Grove South Mustangs (Downers Grove, IL), 64-59 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Bengals now possess a 12-17 record. They play next when they travel to Joliet West for a SouthWest Prairie bout on Friday, February 14. Plainfield East will play a Tigers team coming off a 56-36 league win over Romeoville (Romeoville, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 18-9.
With the loss, Downers Grove South falls to 14-12 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Proviso East (Maywood, IL) to play the Pirates in a West Suburban - Gold bout on Friday, February 14. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 17-8. Proviso East won 50-47 in their recent league bout against Berwyn/Cicero Morton (Cicero, IL)
