The Newton Local Indians basketball team scored 46 points and limited the host Southeastern Local Trojans to 44 in the Indians non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Indians now possess a 12-8 record. They play next when they host Arcanum for a Western Ohio game on Friday, February 14. Newton Local will confront a Trojans team coming off a 48-32 league win over National Trail (New Paris, OH). The Trojans record now stands at 13-8.

With the loss, Southeastern Local falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Catholic Central (Springfield, OH) to confront the Irish in a Ohio Heritage game on Tuesday, February 11. The Irish go into the game with a record of 14-5. Catholic Central won 59-58 in their recent non-league game against Troy Christian (Troy, OH)
