In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Jersey Panthers basketball team scored a close 41-37 win over the Southwestern Piasa Birds.

The Panthers (15-13) will now prepare for their contest against Collinsville (Collinsville, IL). The Kahoks come into the non-league contest with a 12-14 record. In their last contest, Collinsville was tipped by Centralia (Centralia, IL), 40-28, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Piasa Birds battle the Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL) in a South Central contest, on Monday, February 10. Southwestern will attempt to better on its 8-19 season record. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a 22-5 record after their 43-35 non-league win over Pawnee/Calvary/Lutheran (Pawnee, IL).
