The Monroe Redhawks topped the host Piedmont Panthers basketball team by a final score of 49-34 in Wednesday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Redhawks face the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets (Marshville, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 44 game, on Friday, February 11. Monroe will attempt to move on its 17-5 season record. The Yellow Jackets enter the game with a 17-5 record after their 61-31 league win over Central Academy (Monroe, NC).
With the defeat, Piedmont moves to 5-17 on the year. The Panthers travel to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC) to face the Cavaliers in a 4A Conference 58 game on Friday, February 11. The Cavaliers enter the game with a record of 16-7. Cuthbertson won 63-48 in their recent league game against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC)
