Virginia High School Basketball - Eastern Mennonite over New Covenant

February 9, 2023: Harrisonburg, VA 22802

Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Eastern Mennonite Flames (Harrisonburg, VA) and the visiting New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), saw Eastern Mennonite's basketball squad overcome New Covenant by a tally of 69-50.

With the victory, Eastern Mennonite improves its record to 14-8 on the campaign. The Flames travel to Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA) to play the Tigers in a Virginia Independent challenge on Saturday, February 11. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 18-4. Hargrave Military Academy won 72-41 in their recent league challenge against North Cross (Roanoke, VA)

Next up, the Gryphons play the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks (Charlottesville, VA) in a Virginia Independent challenge, on Tuesday, February 14. New Covenant will attempt to improve on its 17-7 season record.
