Riverdale Baptist Crusaders (Upper Marlboro, MD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Shining Star Sports Academy Panthers (Petersburg, VA), 60-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Riverdale Baptist upgrades its record to 21-2 on the season. The Crusaders host Southern Maryland Christian Academy (White Plains, MD) to play the Mustangs in a Maryland Independent League bout on Friday, February 10. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 1-13. Southern Maryland Christian Academy lost 80-70 in their recent league bout against King's Christian Academy (Callaway, MD)

Next up, the Panthers play the Shabach Christian Academy Gold/Navy Eagles (Landover, MD) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 11. Shining Star Sports Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 13-11 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 14-13 record after their 66-63 non-league loss to Fairfax Christian (Dulles, VA).
