New York High School Basketball - Niagara-Wheatfield topped by Amherst Central

February 9, 2023: Amherst, NY 14226

The Amherst Central Tigers basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the visiting Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons to 34 in the Tigers non-league victory on Thursday.

The Tigers now sport a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sweet Home for a Section 6 Erie County II contest on Friday, February 10. Amherst Central will battle a Panthers team coming off a 58-46 non-league loss to Depew (Depew, NY). The Panthers record now stands at 11-7.

The Falcons (6-11) will now prepare for their contest against Niagara Falls (Niagara Falls, NY). The Wolverines come into the Section 6 Niagara - Frontier contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Niagara Falls dropped by Lockport (Lockport, NY), 68-47, in a league contest.
