In Friday's league outing, the Lapeer Lightning (Lapeer, MI) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Midland Chemics (Midland, MI), by a margin of 61-39.

The Lightning (4-11) will now prepare for their outing against Saginaw (Saginaw, MI). The Trojans go into the Saginaw Valley outing with a 12-5 record. In their last outing, Saginaw was trounced by Davison (Davison, MI), 106-86, in a league outing.

The Chemics now own a 2-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mt. Pleasant for a Saginaw Valley match on Monday, February 12. Midland will meet a Oilers team coming off a 57-42 league win over Dow (Midland, MI). The Oilers record now stands at 10-8.
