Riverdale Baptist Crusaders (Upper Marlboro, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs (White Plains, MD), 69-60 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Riverdale Baptist upgrades its record to 23-14 on the season. The Crusaders host National Christian Academy (Fort Washington, MD) to play the Eagles in a Metro Private bout on Monday, February 12. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 5-16. National Christian Academy lost 63-58 in their recent league bout against Springdale Prep (New Windsor, MD)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Takoma Academy Tigers (Takoma Park, MD) in a Maryland Independent League bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Southern Maryland Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 16-5 record after their 71-51 league loss to Lanham Christian (Lanham, MD).
