Bellevue West Thunderbirds (Bellevue, NE) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Omaha Central Eagles (Omaha, NE), 81-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bellevue West upgrades its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Papillion-LaVista (Papillion, NE) to play the Monarchs in a A District TBD bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Monarchs come into the bout with a record of 12-7. Papillion-LaVista lost 53-43 in their recent league bout against Lincoln Southeast (Lincoln, NE)

Next up, the Eagles play the Omaha North Vikings (Omaha, NE) in a A District TBD bout, on Saturday, February 10. Omaha Central will attempt to upgrade on its 15-6 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 7-11 record after their 62-29 league win over Buena Vista (Omaha, NE).
