Parklane Academy Pioneers (McComb, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Copiah Academy Colonels (Gallman, MS), 56-53 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Parklane Academy upgrades its record to 18-9 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Bowling Green (Franklinton, LA) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 10. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a record of 4-10. Bowling Green won 31-24 in their recent non-league bout against Brookhaven Academy (Brookhaven, MS)

Next up, the Colonels play the East Rankin Academy Patriots (Pelahatchie, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Copiah Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-15 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 33-7 record after their 34-31 non-league loss to Rossville Christian Academy (Rossville, TN).
