Middletown South Eagles (Middletown, NJ) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Long Branch Green Wave (Long Branch, NJ), 46-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Middletown South upgrades its record to 8-11 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Lacey Township (Lanoka Harbor, NJ) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Monday, February 12. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 9-12.

Next up, the Green Wave play the Brick Memorial Mustangs (Brick, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 12. Long Branch will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 13-10 record after their 35-32 non-league win over Marlboro (Marlboro, NJ).
