South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Cox Mill Chargers (Concord, NC), 4-3 in a non-league test.

With the win, South Caldwell upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Spartans travel to Hickory (Hickory, NC) to battle the Red Tornadoes in a non-league test on Saturday, March 4. The Red Tornadoes come into the test with a record of 1-0. Hickory won 9-0 in their recent non-league test against Newton-Conover (Newton, NC)

With the defeat, Cox Mill falls to 0-2 on the season. The Chargers host West Cabarrus (Concord, NC) to battle the Wolverines in a Greater Metro 4A test on Tuesday, March 7. The Wolverines come into the test with a record of 0-1.
