The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Morro Bay Pirates (Morro Bay, CA) and the visiting Merced Bears (Merced, CA), saw Morro Bay's volleyball squad nip Merced by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Morro Bay upgrades its record to 1-5 on the year. The Pirates host Nipomo (Nipomo, CA) to play the Titans in a non-league bout on Saturday, March 2. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 3-1. Nipomo won 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Immanuel (Reedley, CA)

The Bears now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Madera South for a non-league bout on Friday, March 1. Merced will play a Stallions squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Immanuel (Reedley, CA). The Stallions record now stands at 4-2.
