The Marvin Ridge Mavericks basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Independence Patriots to 42 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mavericks now sport a 24-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Charlotte Catholic for a non-league contest on Tuesday, March 5. Marvin Ridge will meet a Cougars team coming off a 58-33 non-league win over Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 24-4.
