Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pflugerville Panthers (Pflugerville, TX), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Veterans Memorial for a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Canyon will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 9-2 non-league win over Laredo LBJ (Laredo, TX). The Patriots record now stands at 11-3.

With the loss, Pflugerville falls to 1-11 on the campaign. The Panthers host Bastrop (Bastrop, TX) to meet the Bears in a 5A Region III District 23 match on Tuesday, March 5. The Bears go into the match with a record of 6-6.
