Deer Park Deer (Deer Park, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Deer now own a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kingwood for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2.

With the loss, Lovejoy falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Leopards travel to Melissa (Melissa, TX) to battle the Cardinals in a 5A Region II District 13 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 16-1. Melissa won 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Rockwall (Rockwall, TX)
