Eagle Pass Eagles (Eagle Pass, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gregory-Portland Wildcats (Portland, TX), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alexander for a 6A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Eagle Pass will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 22-4 non-league win over Corpus Christi Moody (Corpus Christi, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-8.

With the loss, Gregory-Portland falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Judson (Converse, TX) to battle the Rockets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 2-9. Judson won 7-4 in their recent non-league challenge against South San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)
