La Mirada Matadores (La Mirada, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting El Toro Chargers (Lake Forest, CA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Matadores now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host Villa Park for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. La Mirada will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Lakewood (Lakewood, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, El Toro falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Sunnyside (Tucson, AZ) to battle the Blue Devils in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Sunnyside lost 6-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Millikan (Long Beach, CA)
