The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Gainesville Leopards (Gainesville, TX) and the host Samuell Spartans (Dallas, TX), saw Gainesville's softball squad nip Samuell by a count of 6-4.

The Leopards now sport a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chisum for a non-league match on Friday, March 1. Gainesville will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 12-9 non-league loss to Chapel Hill (Mount Pleasant, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-6.

With the loss, Samuell falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Texas (Texarkana, TX) to face the Tigers in a non-league match on Saturday, March 2. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 10-6. Texas won 2-0 in their recent non-league match against Quitman (Quitman, TX)
