Kellis Cougars (Glendale, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Notre Dame Prep Saints (Scottsdale, AZ), 10-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Centennial for a 5A Northwest challenge on Monday, March 4. Kellis will face a Coyotes squad coming off a 6-0 non-league loss to Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, AZ). The Coyotes record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Notre Dame Prep falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Canyon View (Waddell, AZ) to face the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Canyon View won 17-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, AZ)
