Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Myrtle Hawks (Myrtle, MS), 13-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Commodores now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cleveland Central for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 1.

With the loss, Myrtle falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Hawks host Pine Grove (Ripley, MS) to battle the Panthers in a 1A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 3-3. Pine Grove won 5-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Wheeler (Wheeler, MS)
