Lyford Bulldogs (Lyford, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ray Texans (Corpus Christi, TX), 10-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Miller for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 1. Lyford will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 7-4 non-league win over Alexander (Laredo, TX). The Buccaneers record now stands at 9-5.

With the loss, Ray falls to 7-11 on the campaign. The Texans travel to Tivy (Kerrville, TX) to face the Antlers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. The Antlers enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Tivy won 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against College Park (The Woodlands, TX)
