The South Caldwell Spartans baseball team scored 11 runs and held the host Hickory Red Tornadoes to 6 in the Spartans non-league win on Saturday.
The Spartans now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Draughn for a non-league test on Tuesday, March 4. South Caldwell will clash with a Wildcats team coming off a 15-5 non-league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-3.
With the defeat, Hickory drops to 2-1 on the year. The Red tornadoes travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league test on Wednesday, March 5. The Panthers go into the test with a record of 2-1.
