In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Moody Bearcats softball team scored a tight 5-2 win over the Axtell Longhorns.

The Bearcats (7-3) will now prepare for their match against Hamilton (Hamilton, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 2A Region I District 7 match with a 0-5 record. In their last match, Hamilton was routed by Valley Mills (Valley Mills, TX), 13-0, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Longhorns confront the Bremond Tigers (Bremond, TX) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, March 4. Axtell will attempt to better on its 4-3 season record. The Tigers come into the match with a 1-1 record after their 19-3 non-league loss to Gatesville (Gatesville, TX).
