The Midlothian Panthers edged the visiting Cross Roads Bobcats softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Panthers meet the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars (Midlothian, TX) in a 5A Region II District 14 challenge, on Tuesday, March 4. Midlothian will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 9-3 non-league win over Palmer (Palmer, TX).

The Bobcats (9-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Frankston (Frankston, TX). The Indians enter the 1A Region III District 20 challenge with a 6-3 record. In their last challenge, Frankston was nudged by Elkhart (Elkhart, TX), 5-3, in a non-league challenge.
