The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Hallsville Bobcats (Hallsville, TX) and the visiting Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), observed Hallsville's softball team get by Pine Tree by a tally of 6-5.

The Bobcats (14-2) will now prepare for their bout against Tyler (Tyler, TX). The Lions go into the bout with a 1-10 record. In their last bout, Tyler was nipped by Troup (Troup, TX), 16-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Pirates clash with the Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 bout, on Monday, March 3. Pine Tree will attempt to advance on its 3-10 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 15-2 non-league win over Cedar Hill (Cedar Hill, TX).
