The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the New Diana Eagles (Diana, TX) and the host Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), observed New Diana's softball team get by Pine Tree by a tally of 5-2.

The Eagles (7-5) will now prepare for their bout against Mount Vernon (Mount Vernon, TX). The Tigers go into the non-league bout with a 6-3 record. In their last bout, Mount Vernon tipped Sam Rayburn (Ivanhoe, TX), 10-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Pirates clash with the Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 bout, on Tuesday, March 4. Pine Tree will attempt to advance on its 3-8 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 15-2 non-league win over Cedar Hill (Cedar Hill, TX).
