The Merced Bears routed the host Hughson Huskies softball squad by a final score of 7-1 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Bears (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Turlock (Turlock, CA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league battle with a 6-1 record. In their last battle, Turlock nudged Pacheco (Los Banos, CA), 10-5, in a non-league battle.

The Huskies now possess a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Central Catholic for a non-league battle on Tuesday, March 15. Hughson will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 7-2 league win over Pitman (Turlock, CA). The Raiders record now stands at 8-1.
