Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Hackberry Mustangs (Hackberry, LA), 13-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Gueydan for a 1A District 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 28.

With the loss, Hackberry falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Midland (Midland, LA) to battle the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 10. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Midland lost 23-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Gueydan (Gueydan, LA)
