In Friday's non-league contest, the Pell City Panthers (Pell City, AL) softball team overwhelmed the host Homewood Patriots (Homewood, AL), by a margin of 8-0.

With the triumph, Pell City moves its record to 9-6 on the year. The Panthers travel to Chelsea (Chelsea, AL) to play the Hornets in a non-league contest on Saturday, March 11. The Patriots (0-7) will now prepare for their test against Pleasant Grove (Pleasant Grove, AL). The Spartans come into the non-league test with a 6-5 record. In their last test, Pleasant Grove overcame Oak Grove (Bessemer, AL), 9-7, in a non-league test.
