West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Manzano Monarchs (Albuquerque, NM), 18-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Atrisco Heritage Academy for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 11. West Mesa will battle a Jaguars squad coming off a 16-6 non-league win over Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Jaguars record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Manzano falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Monarchs travel to Highland (Albuquerque, NM) to battle the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 11. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 0-7. Highland lost 24-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Moriarty (Moriarty, NM)
